The Fashion Impact Fund provided a grant to support a workforce education program delivered by the Fashion Technology Academy, the training academy operated by Fashion Enter Ltd, an ethical garment manufacturing social enterprise based in London. The grant supported participants progressing to the Level 2 Certificate in Fashion and Textiles, a program designed to develop advanced garment production skills and prepare participants for professional roles within the fashion and apparel manufacturing sector.

Education

The Level 2 Fashion and Textiles Certificate provides structured training in garment production techniques and apparel construction. Participants develop skills in tailoring methods, fabric and component selection, and garment assembly through both machine and hand sewing techniques.

The program also introduces technical pattern drafting and cutting skills. Through workshops with industry professionals, participants learn how to develop full-scale garment patterns while understanding the tools, techniques, and methods required for professional garment production.

Workforce

The program prepares participants with the advanced technical capabilities needed to pursue professional roles within the fashion and apparel sector. By combining classroom instruction with industry-informed training, participants gain insight into the standards required within professional manufacturing environments.

Graduates leave the program with strengthened technical proficiency and a clearer understanding of how their skills translate into employment opportunities within the fashion production industry.

Manufacturing

By strengthening pattern cutting, garment construction, and production planning skills, the program contributes to expanding the skilled workforce required to support ethical garment manufacturing in the United Kingdom. Workforce development initiatives such as this help sustain local production capacity while supporting responsible manufacturing practices within the fashion industry.

Impact

The program ran for 12 weeks and supported 15 participants in developing advanced garment production and pattern cutting skills. Through hands-on instruction and industry-led workshops, participants strengthened their technical capabilities and gained experience preparing garments and patterns to professional production standards.
